Common questions
The app is large to download — why?
The entire study library (every translation, lexicon, and cross-reference) is bundled so the app works fully offline — nothing to download before you start studying. The one exception is the Classical Commentary Library, which installs as a separate one-time ~354 MB download after you add it (included with the $4.99/month plan, or a one-time $24.99 add-on on any other tier).
Do I need an account?
No. Scribe has no account and no login. Your highlights, bookmarks, and reading position stay on your device.
How do I set up AI research?
Unlock Scholar, then add your API key in Settings — a direct Anthropic key or an OpenRouter key. The AI Research page walks through getting a key.
Does Scribe work in my country?
Yes. Scribe is distributed through the App Store, which lists it in your local store, and the whole study library is bundled in the app — so it works the same anywhere, including fully offline. The interface is in English.
How many translations are included, and how many are free?
14 translations ship bundled: 12 English plus 2 Tagalog (Ang Dating Biblia and the Tagalog Unlocked Literal Bible). Nine are free in Reading Mode and the other five unlock with Scholar — and all 14 are searchable, even on the free tier.
